Claire Sawers hosts an evening of readings and discussions with authors Allan Radcliffe, Zoë Strachan, and Louise Welsh.
Together we will explore the intersection of LGBTQ+ identities and the written word, and gain an insight into the creative and personal challenges faced by LGBTQ+ authors in hostile times.

Blurred Faces, the July choice for the Edinburgh Gay Men's Book Group, is the latest novel by local queer writer Allan Radcliffe. Set in contemporary Edinburgh it focuses on two men who meet through a gay dating app. A fragile romance develops between them which is complicated by a long-buried secret.
We are delighted that Allan will be joining us at the meeting to discuss the writing of the book and to answer our questions.
We’ll be meeting in person on Wednesday 22 July 2026 at The Outhouse on 12A Broughton St Lane, Edinburgh EH1 3LY.
